Every piece in this collection began as something found. A seedpod. A fragment of bark. A leaf. A dried calyx. A cluster of berries at the end of a stem. I gathered these things, then transformed them through electroforming - the organic matter was slowly covered in a copper layer, preserving the form in metal . The result is a copper ghost of the found thing: every texture, every cavity, every accidental crease recorded with a fidelity no hand could achieve.
The process is part of the concept. These pieces are not made in the conventional sense — they are grown, the same way the forms they preserve were grown.
